The largest island in the park was once a thriving community of pioneers engaged in pineapple farming, sponging, wrecking, and other pursuits. Once on-site, you can pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the mobile app. Once payment is made on-site, we do not offer refunds or modifications. Prior to paying, ensure one of the designated campsites is available. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once all designated campsites are filled, there will be no additional space allowed for overnight camping. This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only.No services are available on the island.Elliott Key is only accessible by boat. Pets on a leash are permitted in the developed areas of Elliott Key.Mosquitoes and no-see-ums (biting midges) are prevalent year round.Fishing - permitted from the maintenance dock (south of the harbor) or from the shoreline outside of the no-wake zone.It affords a good opportunity to see a variety of habitats in the martime forest. Also, "Spite Highway" runs approximately six miles down the center of the island. Fresh drinking water is located outside the building. Restrooms - cold water showers are available.Picknicking - tables and barbecue grills are available in the campground and marina.Overnight camping and docking fees are required. Learning - The park environmental education program works to cultivate an appreciation of our natural world, leading to the preservation of natural resources.Eliott Key is only accessible by boat.Wildlife Watching -The park is home to an incredible diversity of tropical/subtropical animals and plants including over 500 species of reef fish, a suite of neo-tropical water birds and migratory habitat, and approximately 20 threatened and endangered species.There are a variety of birding opportunities along the Biscayne Birding Trail.The only access to these islands is by boat. Camping - Campgrounds are located at Boca Chita and Elliott Keys.
